Parents and Citizens' Association
The Mareeba State High School Parents and Citizens Associations promotes a friendly relationship among staff, students and members of the community. It achieves this by bringing together the support of the parents and businesses of the Mareeba Shire.
The P & C lobbies government agencies on behalf of the school in the interests of our children, students at Mareeba SHS.
Our focus for fundraising is to improve the learning environment for all students and to support projects which will enhance the social and academic education as well as the safety of our students. The P & C endeavours to enhance the best possible outcomes for students in academic, sporting and cultural achievements.
The P & C meets on the second Tuesday of each month, 7.30 p.m. in the school Common Room. We welcome parents and the community to become involved. We are not just a fundraising body, we have input into a whole range of school issues. Parental input is welcome in our school. Please consider joining us.

Facilities and Workplace, Health & Safety Commitee
The purpose of the Facilities & WHS Committee is to work on strategies and compile action plans to enable our school to be "ready and open for the business of learning". To enable our staff and students to enjoy their teaching and learning activities in a safe and healthy environment our Committee meet once each Term to brainstorm and address issues.
Our key priorities are:
Issue an Annual Facilities Survey to students, staff, parents and community users about their needs of our school and what areas they would like us to improve or enhance. These responses are compiled and prioritised by committee members into an Action Plan.
To help our facilities budget go further, our Committee also holds "Working Bees" during the year in conjunction with the P&C Association. Whilst the purpose of the working bee is to do some little jobs around the school to improve the appearance or tidy the gardens, the real benefit is to have some time in an informal setting to meet and talk with other school community members.
At times, workplace health and safety concerns may also be brought to the attention of the Committee for response or recommendation.
The Committee members currently comprise a number of interested staff members, students and parents.
If you would like to come to a meeting, or just help out at one of our working bees, please contact the school via email or phone 4092 1399.
