Welcome to Mareeba State High School

A tradition of excellence

Students hard at work

Message from the Principal

Established in 1960 and with many exceptional achievements behind us, Mareeba State High School has many strong traditions.

A caring, supportive staff including 51 teachers, a Guidance Officer, School Nurse, Police Officer, a Community Education Counsellor, a Teacher/Librarian and more than 50 non-teaching staff work very professionally to ensure your child's education is the best on offer.

We are very proud of the wonderful opportunites provided for our students and highlight the achievements of students and staff in the following pages. We invite you to view our website and to join our school community as a student or P & C Committee member. We know we can create opportunities for your child to succeed in their chosen future.

Our school's 50th Anniversary will be celebrated during 2009.  Please check our School Calendar for details.

Mareeba State High School ....building a better future together.

Tuckshop Information

Debbie Heathfield is the Tuckshop Convenor at Mareeba State High School.

Our Tuckshop is located under D block and we operate five days per week from 8.00am until 2.00pm.

With two paid assistants and a wonderful group of volunteers our Tuckshop is committed to providing a variety of healthy foods and drinks for our students.   Preparing all of our food fresh daily requires a lot of preparation work and volunteers play a vital role in making sure our food is ready on time for our students.

We are always grateful for any help you would like to offer. We have a three week roster or you may offer to help for one day, half a day or whatever time you can assist.   If you have a special preference for a special day and you would like to help – please let me know and I will put your name down on the day you prefer.

We have a nice friendly atmosphere in our Tuckshop, and we gladly welcome everyone – including Dads and Grandparents.   We currently have some Dads in Tuckshop who are enjoying their time with us and with our students.

Please feel free to pop in and have a look – you are always welcome.
